The playground was filled with young entrepreneurs today selling their wares! They had all been taking part in the Young Enterprise £10 Challenge where they borrowed £10 from the school and designed, sourced, promoted and sold their products over a 4 week period – a crash course in entrepreneurship! Stalls included the brilliantly named ‘Glow and Behold’ candle stall, while others sold bubble tea, surprise boxes, tote bags and cookies (always a winner). After the market, students had to repay the £10 and make a donation to a school charity before dividing the profits.
We were delighted that an alumna of FHS, Cecilia Frering, a jewellery designer who has set up her own business, came along to judge the stalls for best design, most original, and most developed product. However, we are extremely proud of ALL the girls who took part – over half of the year group in Year 7.
