On Thursday morning, the Junior Hall transformed into a rainforest as Year 4 wore colourful costumes and created the sounds of the rain, wind, thunder and animal calls with body percussion. The girls took on the important role of speaking for the plants, animals and trees of the rainforest since they cannot talk for themselves. They made a gentle plea to the audience to consider the impacts deforestation is having on some of the most beautiful and diverse areas in our world. The assembly finished with a beautiful and powerful rendition of ā€˜Save Our Planet’ where the girls called for all generations to come together to treat the world with love and respect.

After the assembly, Year 4 welcomed their parents to their classroom and proudly discussed all their wonderful work from the year so far. English, maths, science, history, geography, RE and Spanish books were admired and the girls were congratulated for all their stunning work across the curriculum.Ā  Mrs Elphinstone also visited the classroom to see the girls and their work, hear brilliant poems, and test them on their excellent grammar knowledge.Ā  She was impressed!
