This week, Year 2 set off for the seaside in their Victorian Seaside drama workshop. They learnt all about the seaside holidays Victorian families took and how they travelled there by steam train. They played different Victorian games, such as find the slipper (or in this case, a seagull called Sally), and pretended they had their own ‘Penny Licks’. They learnt all about the differences and similarities between Victorian beach days and our beach days – including the fact that Victorians used changing carriages to get into their long bathing suits to avoid the sunshine, as they did not have sun cream. The girls all had a jolly old time at the seaside and can’t wait to go again!
