Girls from year 10 and Year 11 put on a slick and dynamic double bill production entitled ‘The Farce and The Furious’.

This included Year 10 students performing extracts from The 39 Steps. Through refined skills in slapstick comedy, physical theatre and big, bold characterisations, the girls told the tale of Richard Hannay, out to find a malicious spy ring. Along the way he encounters a mysterious German lady, a chase on top of a train and some peculiar local Scottish hotel owners, not to mention, love in the form of the glamorous Pamela. This was a hilarious production, expertly acted.

During the second half, the Year 11 students performed 4 duologues from the following plays: Sure Thing, by David Ives, Things I Know To Be True by Andrew Bovell, The Village Bike by Penelope Skinner and Swimming With Sharks by George Huang. Throughout this second half the audience were kept enthralled by the sensitivity and versatility of the eight actors. Each piece explored a different relationship and dramatic genre, from physical and verbal comedy through to intense and gritty, naturalistic performing. Every girl should be commended for their extraordinary acting.
