This week, as part of our sustainability drive, pupils and staff were encouraged to abandon their usual car, bus or tube journeys into School in favour of more environmentally friendly modes of transport!

Teacher of English and Head of Outreach, Mr Galloway kicked off the week with an 80km cycle into School from his home in Lewes, East Sussex. His 3.30am start certainly inspired us all to walk or cycle into School this week (read more about his epic journey here!). As well as reminding us of the environmental impact of our journeys, the week has prompted us to consider the importance of incorporating more fresh air and exercise into our daily routines.

Pupils were asked to count up the car miles saved this week, and to log the total with their form tutor.

A very special mention must go to Year 7 pupil, Manha, who woke up at 3.00am on Thursday morning and walked over 7 miles into School with her Dad. What an incredible display of determination!
