After receiving our Art Unit 2 themes, as a class we took trip to the Tate Modern, a shift from the pressure of handing in our Art Unit 1 into real visual engagement. Walking through the galleries, I started to notice how the themes we had received—technology, relief, interiors, uniforms, groups of people, flocks and herds, dramatic scenery and elaborate forms—appeared in different and often unexpected ways.

Overall, the visit helped us connect the exam themes to real artworks, making them feel more concrete and meaningful beyond the classroom, where we will soon discuss our artwork finds and mind-map potential ideas before starting our sketchbooks for unit 2.
