On the 29th of June, students in years 10 and 12 joined together for an evening of typical Spanish food.

The presenters showed recipes to the girls, who paid close attention to the method, then used the ingredients to make the food. For the first meal, girls ate warm bread from the oven with small tomatoes and olive oil. Then, they gave them a very well know cheese from Spain, semi cured manchego cheese with quince jelly on top. Later, they saw how to cook gazpacho, a cold soup which is very popular in Spain. At the end, they ate pudding, a cake of Santiago. It is a traditional cake and its main ingredients are almonds, cinnamon and lemon. At the end of the day, it was a fantastic opportunity for the girls to improve their vocabulary and their levels of comprehension of the Spanish language. Moreover, now all the girls are able to cook fantastic Spanish recipes to try with their family and friends.
