On Thursday 14th February, Laura Bates, author and founder of the Everyday Sexism Project, gave an inspiring and interesting talk on sexism and her new book, The Burning.
Laura pointed out that sexism is not, as some would believe, long gone. She recounted the horrifying stories that she had received from victims of gender stereotyping and sexism. At the end of the talk, Laura answered questions from the floor and explained what would be the best solution to tackle these grave issues.
“This talk has definitely changed our perception of feminism and has encouraged us to stand and speak up for not only ourselves, but also people around us,” said Christina, one of our Sixth Form students.
