On the Friday 4th February, FHS were lucky to have Kate Briant, the Senior Partner and a founding member of CapVest, come and speak to us.
Kate gave an information-packed account about her journey through the highly competitive field of investment banking having graduated from The University of Cape Town, South Africa, and about her experience in the private equity business. Throughout the talk, she explained her day-to-day role of organising the funds from investors for the purpose of growing companies, while travelling all over the globe. Investment banking is widely acknowledged as a male dominated profession and we learnt a lot about the attributes needed to succeed in it as a young woman, inspiring many of us to consider it as a career path.
Finishing with an engaging Q&A, Mrs Briant has given us all a real insight into her role in the firm along with many tips to prosper in the career, just as she has so well.
