The Lower Sixth Politics students visited the Supreme Court earlier this week. We toured around the building and saw the court rooms. We also were able to sit in on a hearing, which was very interesting to see as it enabled us to fully understand what we have been learning in our lessons.
In particular, this visit ties in with the ‘Relations between branches’ part of our Politics course. At the end of our visit we saw an exhibition where we learnt the history of the Supreme Court and how it was created. We were also able to read previous court cases and decide on a judgement and see if our opinion agreed with that of the Supreme Court!
Overall, we had a lovely afternoon and it supplemented our learning in class of this particular topic.
