Year 6 have worked really hard in their Spanish lessons and we took the opportunity to show the rest of the Junior School their Spanish knowledge and research skills in a recent current affairs assembly!

As part of their final Spanish project of the year, the girls were split into groups to prepare their materials and presentations.  They carried out some research on four well-renowned Spanish towns: Madrid, Spain’s capital city, Barcelona (in Cataluña), Sevilla (in Andalucía) and Santiago de Compostela (in Galicia).

The Year 6 girls proved to be passionate and creative and came up with brilliant ways of how to present their town. Whilst some of them became actresses as British people on a trip to Spain seeking high-quality advice, others did a role-play to let us know about all the must-do things. The girls now know that if they want to see art – they had better go to the Museo del Prado in Madrid; if they want to enjoy and be impressed by human towers (`castells´) – they had better go to Barcelona; if they want to become professional flamenco dancers – they had better go to Sevilla; and if they want to test their physical ability and become a pilgrim to visit the remains of St. James (one of the Twelve Apostles) – they had better go to Santiago de Compostela!
