Following in the footsteps of the senior girls, this week, the girls in the Junior School have taken part in their very first TIPS week.
TIPS stands for Thinking Innovatively and Problem Solving and our aim was to enrich the girls learning experiences outside of their already packed academic curriculum. The girls had the opportunity to take part in a whole host of workshops, including making their own camera, designing their own tote bag, creating amulets and writing poetry, solving crimes and riddles, bringing animations to life, creating adverts about endangered species and many more.
All these workshops promoted key skills, for example, perseverance, leadership, dexterity, creative thinking and cooperation. The feedback from the girls has been overwhelmingly positive and it has been brilliant to see girls from all year groups engaging with different tasks and pushing themselves out of their comfort zones. The older girls in both KS1 and KS2 acted as fantastic role models for the younger girls, being encouraging and supportive when they found tasks tricky. We would all like to say a huge thank you to the Friends, who agreed to provide us with a budget for this years activities and we are already plotting how next year can be even bigger and better than this year!
