As the rain came pouring down on Wednesday morning, I was a bit apprehensive about Year 1’s upcoming trip to Kew Gardens but fortunately our prayers were answered and the sun shone for the entire day, filling us with happiness and positivity!

The girls thoroughly enjoyed taking part in the ‘Maths in the Great Outdoors’ workshop where they put their measuring skills to the test. They learnt all about finding the circumference of trees, they measured and compared the lengths of different objects and had fun using trundle wheels to measure the distance between different garden features.

The highlight of the day, however, was the Children’s Garden, and what a garden it is. The girls delightedly rushed around the different areas and excitedly explored the ropes, slides, tree house, sand pits and fort! I was extremely impressed by their agility, bravery and problem-solving skills whilst navigating the different obstacles.

A fun day was had by all!
