On the lead up to the Charity & Enterprise Fair on 7th March we have the opportunity to explore aspects of Enterprise.
This allows us to explore the curriculum using a creative approach giving context and meaning to topics such as money and percentages in Maths and persuasive writing in English. Kicking off with an assembly on cooperation we will also be enjoying talks from business and social entrepreneurs. It is a wonderful opportunity for girls to grasp different aspects of enterprise in more depth prior to our much loved Charity & Enterprise Fair.
We heard from Daisy who works for The Felix Project. This charity was founded in 2016 and tackles two issues: food waste and food poverty. They have created partnerships with supermarkets and food stores such as Waitrose and Fortnum and Mason where their unwanted products are transported to charities and local communities in need. We learned about the growth of the charity and what it is like running The Felix Project day to day as well as deepening our understanding of food waste and poverty issues.
