Year 7 embarked on their first geography river field trip to Epping Forest field centre, where they undertook an investigation to map out the changes in the cross profile of Loughton Brook river.
Each form was taken to three separate locations along the river to investigate the river’s width, depth, wetter perimeter, bedload size and shape, river gradient and velocity. They were given specific equipment to complete the various tests and recorded the data for their end of topic assessments. The girls thoroughly enjoyed the adventure with a Golden Clipboard award being given to the best geographer of the day in each form.
