The second annual Charity & Enterprise Fair took place this week and what a tremendous turn out from the girls.
With their stalls fully stocked with pom poms, sweet treats and other exquisite products, they prepared to sell their products to shoppers including other students, teachers and parents. Girls in Years Three to Five had already submitted proposals for their stalls and generated some wonderful ideas. Then, they developed their ideas, researched a charity to donate their proceeds to and pitched their ideas at the end of Enterprise Week and their efforts resulted in the fair this week.
The Fair also featured products and brands created by Year Six for their ‘Make £5 Grow’ enterprise project. The girls have been designing and costing their products and will be marketing items in their Maths lessons. They have been challenged to make the most profit as a team with all proceeds donated to Syria Relief and other charities including RSPCA, WWF, Cancer Relief, Battersea Dogs and Cats, Water Aid, Walkabout and Community Action Nepal.
It was wonderful to see the curriculum coming to life through their research, refinement of products and pricing. Their business acumen was quite astounding, certainly business women in the making!
