The school gathered for our Harvest Worship this year not in the church, but in the school hall and in a number of Zoom locations throughout the school.

Year 7 began our act of worship by dramatising a Psalm of praise and thanksgiving.  The students and teachers were exhorted to be the kind of people who were prepared to wait for the harvest over many seasons with a reminder that some things like pineapples or ginger take years to reach their final goal.  During Covid 19, such a message seems very important when so many of us fear that we are not growing or being fruitful.  Patience and stability are called for during these times in preparation for the harvest that is to come.  After the talk, a video of Year 7 singing was played, and their voices were a beautiful reminder of the power of the human voice – something that we are all sadly missing.  All in all, this unusual Harvest Gathering inspired and encouraged us to be a community of love and charity,  despite the strictures of Coronavirus.
