On the evening of Tuesday 23rd January, our U13 Footballers played their inaugural match, coming away with a 2-0 victory over More House.
Illness and snowy conditions almost derailed the fixture before it had even begun. Nevertheless, the energy and enthusiasm shown by the girls was boundless. The night ended with an impressive 2-0 win.
FHS have recently introduced Football as part of their sports curriculum this year. The PE staff have been delighted by the girls’ enthusiasm for the game and the number of girls attending the lunchtime club led by Mr Galloway.
The FAs Gameplan for Growth seeks to double the participation in womens football by 2020. The changes currently being made to the Womens Superleague make it a very exciting time for our girls to be playing football.
