On Friday 4th December, we held our Enterprise Fair in the Playground. Stallholders had the opportunity to sell their products for profit, donating 10% to a charity of their choice. As you will see from the photos, the murky weather was brightened up by this joyous occasion where girls from across the school rose to this creative and enterprising challenge. Pupils in Year 7 sold bracelets (Scoobies) and scrunchies with one group making £100 and choosing to donate £50 to Water Aid! At the same time, Sixth Formers who have taken part in our Sixth Form Innovation Sprints sold jewellery, Criali Creative food, focaccia, and candles in seashells with one stall making £448 over just one lunchtime and opting to donate 20% to charity.

The bauble terrariums were also a hit as were the churros stall and Snowbo slushie. Our Year 8 Tycoon in Schools team hired slushie machines and sold just under 200 icy drinks which added to the festive feel of this exciting event. We will look for many more opportunities to celebrate the creativity of our pupils in the new year. What a joy it is to see girls setting up businesses and learning about marketing, supply, demand, profit and loss and much more. We are also delighted to be launching a free online Business Basics course in the Spring Term – watch this space for more information early in 2021.
