At the start of this school year, a group of LVI students began a project with the Young Enterprise Programme as an enrichment elective.
After many weeks of deciding what product to make, we collectively decided on reusable glass drinks cups, as an ethical alternative to the single use plastic ones found in coffee shops and supermarkets, with the business name ‘Don’t be a Mug’. On Tuesday, having finalised and produced a batch of our cups after our internal test sale, we manned a stall at Spitalfields Market to sell them to the general public. This was a great experience, as we were able to develop our sales skills when interacting with our customers.
We sold over a third of our stock at Spitalfields, and are looking forward to holding more sales within school for those who would like to purchase our product. Remember: Don’t be a Mug, buy one!
