It has been a joy to visit every class in the Junior School over the past few days to talk to the girls about Christian Aid Week. Together we have explored the story of Esther Saizi, who hails from Malawi. With the support of Christian Aid, Esther has been able to use sustainable Pigeon Pea flour to bake, and then sell, delicious bread rolls. This small business raises sufficient funds for her family to thrive – despite the intense socio-economic and climate challenges Malawians currently face.
If you and your daughter(s) would like to donate to Christian Aid, you can do so through this link: Christian Aid Week 2023 – Donate
We have also shared a recipe for Pigeon Pea Cookies with the girls this week. We recommend using Yellow Split Peas in this, if you decide to give it a go together! The recipe can be found on pages 5-6 of this booklet: Pigeon peas Recipe Book (christianaid.org.uk)
