Robert Burns would have been proud of us at our wonderful Supper in his honour on Friday 29th January.

We ate our delicious haggis in whisky sauce with enthusiasm, toasted his memory with gusto and reeled with abandon to the foot-tappin’ music of the band. The committees of both Junior and Senior Schools excelled themselves in providing fabulous table decorations and delicious wines, and organising a raffle and a sparkling Gifting Tree which together raised £5555 for the Katherine Low Settlement. We are so grateful to them for their tireless efforts and to all the parents who so generously donated their gifts, time, money and dancing skills to the cause. We were entertained to lively poems and humorous speeches from Neil Maddocks, David Irving and David and Karen Tait, and almost moved to tears by the exquisite singing of My Love is like a Red, Red Rose by Cathy Stockall and Cat Graham. Our own rendition of Auld Lang Syne was wildly exuberant. This event has become the great social event of the year for the School, and I hope that you will be able to come next year, and discover one of greatest joys (and important social skills!) of life – Scottish reeling.
