On Monday 6th October, 14 pupils from FHS travelled to Hemel Hempstead to compete in the prestigious National Schools Snowsports Association (NSSA) Indoor Skiing Championships. Held at The Snow Centre, the event featured a challenging timed slalom course designed to test speed, precision, and control.
The day began with the Junior category, where FHS athletes made an immediate impact. Standout performances included Allegra G (Year 8), who secured an impressive 3rd place, and Celina T, who followed closely in 5th place in the U13 category. Their skill and determination set a strong tone for the rest of the team. Throughout the competition, FHS pupils showcased excellent technique and team spirit, delivering consistent performances across all age groups. Their combined efforts earned FHS 1st place overall in the Junior event, a remarkable achievement at a national level.
Senior pupils also performed strongly, with several excellent individual runs and confident skiing throughout the day. Their commitment and composure on the slope were commendable, contributing to a successful and enjoyable experience for the whole team.
Congratulations to all skiers who took part, and thank you to everyone who supported the event. We look forward to entering future competitions and continuing to build on this success.
