On Thursday 27th April, Vince Cable came into school to speak to parents and students about ‘Why Politics Matters’.

Vince Cable was Secretary of State for Business Innovation and Skills and President of the Board of Trade (2010-2015). He was Member of Parliament for Twickenham 1997-2015, Deputy Leader of the Lib Dems 2007-2010, and Shadow Chancellor 2003-2010. He will stand for his former seat in Twickenham in the upcoming General Election.

Sir Vince Cable spoke to the audience about the changes and the developments in the political system he has seen over the course of his career; how his teens shaped his later political views; why young voters matter; and, of course, Brexit and the upcoming General Election.

It was a wonderfully engaging and informative evening. Many thanks to Sir Vince for coming in during such a busy time.
