We were delighted to be joined by prospective families, as well as our Year 11 pupils and parents, for our annual Sixth Form Information Evening yesterday.
Our Head, Alexandra Haydon, Head of Futures, Caroline Wilkes, and Head of Sixth Form, James Courtenay Clack, spoke about how our transformational Sixth Form education prepares our students to become the leaders, innovators and gamechangers of tomorrow.
Creative and analytical thinking is central to our Sixth Form experience. Extended Project Qualifications, TEDx Talks and an outstanding enrichment programme are all designed to cultivate intellectual curiosity as well as cementing essential skills for the future. Our students leave us to enrol in excellent university courses all over the world, including the US, Canada and Europe, as well as the top UK institutions; yet they know that they will always be part of the Francis Holland community.
Our Head Girls, Regina and Chloe, illustrated the above points brilliantly in their talks, describing how they have grown in confidence during their time at FHS and how every pupil feels known and welcomed within our warm, inclusive and supportive community. It was particularly lovely to hear them describe FHS as ‘an extended family’ and ‘a place where every girl can thrive, flourish and reach her full potential’.
Our guests then enjoyed a tour of our beautiful Sixth Form Centre, the Old School House, with our Sixth Form Ambassadors, where they had the opportunity to visit interactive subject displays and chat to current pupils and staff. Thanks so much to everybody who contributed to the success of the evening.
