On Friday 29th March, Year 6 hosted their long awaited Tudor Banquet.
The table was laid with the finest of silver, the fizzy apple juice flowed and there was even a show stopping pigeon pie! As girls entered in their finest Tudor garments, the parents were treated to King Henry’s Pavane with some girls playing the xylophone whist others performed dances.
It was then time to feast: all the girls sat at the table, which was adorned with not only a huge swan but a regal peacock too. The royal chef arrived to carve the chicken as the girls filled their plates with all sorts of treats, both savory and sweet! It was the puff pastry Tudor swans that the girls made in the kitchens that were the first to be eaten up! Finally the parents were treated to some beautiful harp playing by Nellie accompanied by Mrs Floyd on the flute.
A huge thank you to all the girls who have worked so hard to produce such a fantastic event and to all the parents who have been so kind, cooking some of the delicious food and lending us so much of their precious table wear. A true example of the team effort that we see so much in this school!
