Last Friday, Year 6 soaked up splendid sunshine on their way to the British Museum to see the Benin Bronzes.

We feel incredibly lucky to have such an institution on our doorstep and this feeling increased as we entered the Africa Galleries, our heads turning left and right in an attempt to see as many fascinating artefacts as possible. The Benin Bronzes were spectacular and the girls quickly set to work comparing different plaques, recording their similarities and differences, and selecting objects to draw. The girls have been studying the ancient Kingdom of Benin in History and the trip brought the past to life. After a quick lunch, they were desperate to return to the bronzes to continue completing their Benin themed activity pack. A thoroughly enjoyable trip as part of the Year 6 Enrichment Programme.
