Curious minds were inspired this week through Year 6’s second session of Current Affairs: Map of the Modern World.

The girls have been delving deep into geopolitics through the study of maps of Western Europe. They started off with the UK and Ireland. There were initial questions pondered such as: Why isn’t Ireland part of the UK? How has the UK been shielded by the wars and revolutions that have swept across Europe throughout history? The girls then went onto study why Western Europe has been blessed by physical geography compared to other parts of the world. A strong start for the girls who are all considering different perspectives to see the modern world through a deeper understanding of geographical and political facts, and how they link.
