On Thursday 26th February Year 3 visited the National Portrait Gallery.
The girls took part in a great workshop during which they learnt to read a portrait. Jane, our engaging workshop leader, taught the girls how to search for clues in portraits so that they might understand a little more about the lives of those in the paintings. They learnt that in reality, things are not always as they might seem! The girls studied paintings of King George IV, Edward Jenner and Charles Waterton. Some girls had the opportunity to dress up as these men in fantastic costumes. It was a very enjoyable and informative trip and great fun was had by all!
