From Friday 6th September to Sunday 8th September, our U18 netball squad, comprising girls from Year 11 and Year 12, participated in a fantastic pre-season training weekend at Condover Hall in Shropshire. The event was a perfect way to kick-start the netball season, offering the team high-quality coaching and opportunities to put their skills into practice through friendly fixtures.
They played competitive matches against Badminton School and Walthamstow Hall, where they were able to apply their new learnings directly into match play. A highlight of the weekend was a Q&A session with Super League player Ella Bowen, which provided the girls with valuable insights into the world of elite netball. They also benefited from a sports psychology session led by a Loughborough Lightning sports psychologist, which the team thoroughly enjoyed. The girls engaged in team-building activities such as the laser maze and tunnelling, which helped strengthen their communication and collaboration skills.
Special recognition goes to Ava Broadhurst (defence), Bea Morrissey (mid-court), and Grace Keane (shooting circle), who were named Players of the Weekend for their excellent performances in the fixtures and their commitment to improving throughout the weekend.
Congratulations to the entire squad for their hard work and dedication, making this weekend an incredible start to what promises to be a successful netball season.
