On Wednesday 18th March, we hosted the London final of the Peter Jones Foundation Tycoon Competition, which runs as part of our Sixth Form Westmacott enrichment programme. The competition itself runs during the autumn term and teams are invited to make business proposals for which they can receive goodwill loans to begin trading. The most profitable businesses from seven London schools made it to the final, which involved a marketplace section and a business pitch given to a judging panel. The FHS team was Pinnit, an upcycled jewellery brand set up by Emma, Tara, Edi and Tara in UVI. Other businesses on show included a marketing agency aimed at local businesses, a sustainable water bottle brand and a baking business. It was a lovely afternoon with all competitors having their mettle tested by the rigorous questions about strategy, profitability and marketing from the judging panel. The Pinnit team were awarded the prize for the best pitch, capping off what has been a thoroughly rewarding process that we look forward to running again next year.
