On Thursday, ten pupils attended the Trinity Schools Book Award ceremony at Emanuel School, where this year’s award-winning books were revealed. The Bookies and Cookies club has shadowed the shortlisted books for the past two terms, and many participated in the Pupil Response Competition, for which they wrote book reviews of or made creative projects inspired by the shortlisted titles. Particular congratulations are in order to Kayla (Year 10), who took 1st place in the final for her book review of Hurricane Summer by Natasha Bromfield! However, all pupils had the chance to meet the authors at the exhibition after the ceremony, getting books signed and sharing their responses with the delighted authors.
