This weekend was the regional heat of the UK Space Design Competition.

After 12 hours of intense collaboration between 8 of our LVI girls and other students on Saturday, our team came away from Imperial College victorious! Champions of London! They demonstrated Physics prowess, engineering expertise and great imagination in designing a futuristic moon base. The judges, experts in the field of Space Science including a NASA associate, thought our design the best and were particularly impressed with our teamwork, the clever modular design for accommodation, our awareness of the challenges of mental health if living on the moon and our proposed IT operating system. The team progress to the National Finals to be held in March with the chance for some to compete in the Global Final at NASA!
