On Thursday 31st January, Professor John Wyatt gave a thought-provoking talk to our Sixth Formers on the ethical dilemmas raised by advances in modern technology.

John Wyatt is Emeritus Professor of Ethics and Perinatology at Univeristy College London and was formerly a Consultant Paediatrician and Professor of Neonatal Studies at University College Hospital. In his engaging talk, he highlighted the various ethical dilemmas surrounding the beginning and end of life, focusing on controversial topics such as abortion and euthanasia. He tackled controversial questions arising from technological advances and questions relating to funding and the value of life with expertise and humanity.

Overall, it was an eye-opening and thought-provoking talk, and Sixth Formers left with a deeper insight into these delicate issues.
