Doug Loynes came in the speak to the Lower Sixth this week and gave an extremely informative and engaging talk. Doug shared his incredible stories of travelling, such as visiting the favelas in Brazil and riding a motorcycle in Uganda for two days until he subsequently crashed it.

Doug shared his insights on how to travel ethically through being curious and researching. He taught us that travel is such a necessary thing to broaden our horizons and challenge stereotypes. He also commented on how we should be respectful of wildlife and different people groups and not treat them as inanimate objects or a source of click bate on our social media.

Doug wants us to be ethical travellers who are well-informed of our impact on the nation we are visiting, as well as the rest of the world.
