The Sixth Form attended an inspiring, uplifting and amusing talk from Dr Emily Grossman, a Science Broadcaster, writer and educator.

Dr Grossman spoke candidly about the personal journey she went on to find her ideal career and the imposter syndrome that many of us experience. Key points of advice included: find an ally, keep going, just say yes and there is no one type of scientist. Dr Grossman then explored the big question: are we being controlled by microorganisms?

She tested a number of scientific theories, including whether gut bacteria causes colic in babies, obesity is contagious and flu causes us to become more sociable.
