Innovation Sprints is an option for Sixth Form Enrichment, and this term we have been privileged to have the opportunity to work with a founder of a tech start up. We are partaking in a four-week programme and helping him develop his app and also learning about the processing of creating an app and starting your own business. The entrepreneur’s app focuses on social media, and the potential harms it may cause.

So, this week, we brainstormed ideas for our own apps that would solve a problem that social media creates. There were so many different ideas created! From apps that filter out edited photos, to an app that freezes other apps, so you don’t get distracted, and a software that alerts you to false information.

Having this opportunity to work with an entrepreneur and for him to share his journey to creating his app with us, has been an amazing experience! We’ve learnt all about the process, how to plan a pitch for investors, and how to develop an initial idea. We’ve really enjoyed the two sessions we have had so far and look forward to the rest!
