On Wednesday, I was delighted to present Reception and Key Stage 1 in their annual show-stopping concert. We were treated to skillful string playing on violin and cello from Year 2, followed by a moving rendition of ‘Lean on Me’. Year 1 gave us an exhilarating performance of the ‘Can Can’ on percussion, followed by recorder playing and singing. Reception shared their exploration of drum strokes in ‘Sounds of the Woods’, as well as bringing the house down by singing ‘Teddy Bear Rock ‘n’ Roll’. All of the year groups came together with perfectly synchronised dance moves to sing ‘Fruit Canon’, ‘Little People’, and ‘Happy’. The joy in the room put a smile on everybody’s face and got the whole crowd up on its feet.
All of the performers put on quite a show and displayed an enormous amount of musical talent. I am so proud of all of the hard work they have put in to make this marvellous concert happen.
Thank you so much to all of the music staff involved for helping to produce a fantastic concert, and thank you to all of the Junior School staff who helped everything run smoothly.
