This year, national GCSE results are a combination of numerical and letter grades following the introduction in most subjects of new examinations with harder content, the remaining subjects following next year.
We are delighted with the continuing strength of our GCSEs, where a fantastic 63% were Grade 9-8/A*, by far the highest ever. Once more, in the sciences almost all grades were A* or A, and English and History results are again outstanding. Computing, Drama and Music also remain exceptionally strong, reflecting the all-round and holistic education girls receive at Francis Holland, whilst in the recent RAD ballet exams, almost every girl, as ever, received a Distinction.
Well done to pupil Amanda Do, who joined us just last September, at age 13 and quickly fast-tracked to Year 11. Amanda managed a clean sweep of A*s and 9s, whilst also studying an undergraduate module in Physics, and writing four novels in her spare time.
Congratulations to all the girls on their fantastic results!
