Something very different this week. The beautiful stylings of the Bach family and their Baroque masterpieces have endured centuries of listens and are still much performed today, in the style it was initially intended. However, many musicians have put their own spin on the notes written by the Bach clan and have refreshed their sound.

Solfeggietto was originally a short keyboard work by C.P.E. Bach, the son of the infamous J.S. Bach. Originally written in 1766, its clear texture and rhythmic energy makes it perfect for a jazz interpretation! This is what the German pianist Luca Sestak and his jazz trio have showcased in their new album, fizzing with summery energy. Enjoy!
