On Wednesday evening we were delighted to welcome all of the LVI and their parents to discuss their future options.

Mrs Elphinstone, Mrs Banks and Mrs Wilkes outlined the higher education landscape, the importance of looking closely at the quality of teaching at universities and how a degree is no longer enough to walk into a job. They also explained more about alternative options open to our students such as degree apprenticeships, applying to universities abroad and the support FHS offers to post-qualification applicants.

About a quarter of the year group take gap years and students do very well applying with their results – with considerably less stress. We continue to support LVI as they explore their future options with our Speaker Programme, Enrichment Electives and Working Lunches. If you think you might be willing to talk to a small group of sixth formers about your career, please don’t hesitate to get in touch with Caroline Wilkes, Head of Futures.
