In the Junior School, we have been busy celebrating British Science Week in lots of creative ways. The girls have enjoyed exploring the ‘Connections’ theme through exciting practical lessons, group challenges and explosive lab demonstrations. Year 3 have investigated the seemingly magical phenomenon of magnetic fields, whilst in Reception, the girls found out how we connect with each other through sounds. Great fun was had experimenting with string telephones and singing songs accompanied by the percussion instruments they had made. In Year 6, the girls have been putting their electronical engineering skills to the test by constructing buzzing board games and Year 2 were challenged to make a range of electronic components work for the first time. We are looking forward to learning more about the connection between healthy eating and the way our bodies work next Thursday, when all girls will take part in a ‘Taste the Rainbow’ workshop to gain important knowledge on nutrition.
Well done to all of those girls who have been completing the ‘Get Connected’ Science Week challenges and to those who have already summited fantastic entries for the poster competition. Remember that all entries should be submitted by Monday 20th March.
