Rain certainly did not stop play for Year 6 as they headed to Wimbledon Lawn Tennis Club last Monday.

The girls were full of excitement and anticipation as many had only even seen Wimbledon on the television.

To start their day off, Year 6 took part in a workshop where they travelled back in time to 1922 and the first ever Championships. They were tasked to produce a news report that would be transmitted over the radio to encourage spectators to come and enjoy the game.
After lunch, was the much anticipated tour of the grounds in which they were taken onto Centre Court, Number One Court and were even taken into the broadcasting centre and onto the roof for a birds eye view. The final part of the trip was a tour of the museum where they all marvelled at the Championship trophies!
Needless to say Year 6 are now all very excited for the Championships to start!
