The Junior School Autumn Concert started dramatically with J.S. Bach’s famous Toccata and Fugue in D minor. Drawn in, the audience continued to listen with rapt attention as the Junior pupils took them on a lively and energetic musical tour of different genres and styles.  It was a delight to hear the impressive mastery of polyrhythms by the Year 5 Samba Band the mellow sound of the Year 6 steel pan ensemble and a technically assured performance by our string ensemble. Year 3 and 4 got the festive season off to a bang with a joyfully noisy rendition of Tchaikovsky’s Trepak and a multi-layered Carol of the Bells.  Choral singing continues to be a great strength of the School; at several points in the concert our choirs moved the audience to tears with their sensitive and expressive performances and wowed with energetic showstoppers.  Bravo, Junior musicians!
