Last term saw the parents across the School battling it out in in two hotly-contested Quiz Nights in aid of our Annual Fund.

The Junior Quiz was prepared and delivered by two very bright senior teachers – Saul Taylor, Head of Maths, and James Hunt, Head of Computer Science. Together they compiled and delivered a fiendishly difficult and cryptic quiz which was as entertaining as it was challenging. It pitted the finest parent brains against each other (and against the staff, who, let it be noted, are the only ones who did not buy clues!) and the battle was fierce.

In the end the Year 6 table won (a fabulous pizza party) for their children, closely followed by Year 3 and Year 1. The aim of the evening was to support the Annual Fund which comprises resources which can enhance and inspire the learning of the girls – hence visualisers and a tortoise for, example. Parents were incredibly generous – we raised over £3,500 – and three quarters of the Annual Fund items were purchased. We are so grateful – and hugely appreciative of the imaginative and energetic preparation work by the team of parents Mashael Aldabaan, Marlyne Jerjian, Tetyana Vasylevska and Ruchira Roy, and by the inspiring leadership of the Chair of the Friends, Gen Davis.

The Senior Quiz was just as feverishly contested, accompanied by delicious food and wine. We are so grateful to those of you who purchased items from the Annual Fund which will make such a difference to the learning and experience of your daughters here. We smashed the fundraising target and every single item requested by our teachers was donated!

Highlights on the Annual Fund were moving LED lights, sports performance analysis software and hatching chicks and we are delighted that we raised over £5,300 towards our goal. Enormous thanks go to Rosie McCormick Paice for masterminding this fantastic evening, Neil Fox for hosting it, and congratulations to the Year 8 table, Pol Roger, who by hook and by crook won in the end.
