Following the huge success of Hub Dot’s first ever school event at Francis Holland, our Head of Careers attended the most recent Hub Dot networking event: Tech and togetherness at the Science Museum.
School girls and entrepreneurial women shared their successes and ideas in the world of Tech. STEM subjects have traditionally been dominated by men, this is changing and the co-founder of Stemettes made this message clear telling her story at the event. Stemettes is leading the way inspiring young women to work in the STEM sector, offering opportunities to visit companies and raising awareness of STEM subjects. Our girls have the opportunity to get involved in Stemettes and have two Careers Conversations this term in the STEM field, they can also take part in Robotics, Science, Web Design, Cryptography and Sloane Sequence One (Mathematics) clubs.
The Hub Dot event was a fantastic opportunity to hear new, fresh ideas in the world of Tech and meet the women and girls who are leading the way in the STEM sector. Francis Holland girls can and do go on to build successful and fulfilling careers in STEM and the Hub Dot event was the place to be inspired by the many women who are leading the way in the sector, a path our STEM girls will follow on.
