On Thursday 6th March, Girls are Investors hosted an event, which provided us with the opportunity to visit Rathbones’ offices for an Investment Management Insight Day.
It was a hugely informative day, where we learnt about all the different roles in the firm from inspiring women in leading positions in the business. Hearing them talk about their area of expertise was very encouraging, as they are women excelling in a male-dominated work field. A topic that was particularly interesting was learning about the Greenbank group. The group are focused on sustainable and ethical investments and focus on funding companies, to allow them to reach net zero.
Later in the day, we learnt about some of the opportunities available at Rathbones, including their apprenticeships and graduate programmes. Next, we were given a tour of the building and got to see what everyday life looks like in a well-known firm. Finally, we received advice on how to build a good CV and what to showcase in interviews.
To end the day, we were then given the chance to ask any questions to a panel of leading women in the business.
