On Wednesday 9th November nine year 7 and 8 students travelled to the home of cricket; Lords to compete in the Under 13 Westminster girlsÂ’ cricket tournament.

The team had been working hard with Mr Mason during cricket club on Friday evenings in preparation for this tournament and were eagerly anticipating their first match. The girls began their quest for the title against Paddington Academy. The game was closely contested with some excellent batting from both sides. Saskia, India and Clara led the bowling front and FHS managed to clinch the win with 1 run! The girlÂ’s next game was against Westminster Academy. Some accurate bowling from Eloise and great tactical batting from Dulcie and Yuriko allowed FHS to win comfortably. After some top level coaching from the MCC Academy coaches the girls were ready and psyched for their final match against St Marylebone School. The team remained composed and took some early wickets. Excellent fielding from Jezebel, Hannah and Anastasya allowed FHS to secure the victory. Francis Holland had managed to remain undefeated and win the tournament, and become Westminster Champions for the first time in our schools history.

Well done to all the girls who took part in their tournament for your hard work, focus and dedication.
