Monday 24th June
Year 8 have arrived safely in Devon and are making their way to camp to set up for the week!
The girls took a stunning sunset walk in the evening sunshine to learn about the ecosystem around them.
Tuesday 25th June
In the morning, while some of our group cleared invasive species by the tidal estuary, others enjoyed an archery session the beautiful Devon woodland.
The afternoon’s bushcraft activities included building catapults for seed bombs, identifying ferns and plaiting bracelets, necklaces and rope with nettle stems.
One group also managed to decipher morse code signal from another camp!
In the evening, the girls had a lovely time learning how to light a fire and toasting (and of course eating) s’mores!
Wednesday 26th June
Today has been another beautiful day in Devon and the girls have enjoyed more archery, clearing invasive species and hunting and finding a package for a mission. They have also had fun plaiting both nettle stems into necklaces and each other’s hair into French plaits, as well as making their own hot chocolate and doughnuts.
In the evening, they prepped an made a delicious and well-deserved dinner after such an active and productive day.
Thursday 27th June
On Thursday, Year 8 spent the morning in the forest clearing invasive species and plants, and working on their teamwork. Other groups enjoyed more canoeing, archery and litter-picking. On their final night, they enjoyed a tent-based talent show and games!
