On Tuesday 14th May, girls in Year 8 visited the West End to see the celebrated and long-running production of The Woman In Black at the Fortune Theatre.

The trip provided a wonderful opportunity to bring a compelling class text to life and is quickly becoming an FHS tradition. Full of surprises and suspense, The Woman In Black tells the story of young solicitor Arthur Kipps, who is sent to wind up the affairs of a recently deceased woman. On the way he encounters a town full of secrets, an isolated house, and the mysterious presence of a woman dressed entirely in black who appears in the most chilling of circumstances (and sometimes in the aisles).

Once again a credit to the school, Year 8 left the Theatre excited, relieved and, as Betsy put it, “a little bit terrified”. Let nobody claim that FHS girls can’t “do it scared”.
